Monogrammed canvas
I keep seeing monogrammed decor everywhere. So I thought instead of buying something monogrammed I'd make something. I chose to wrap the letter in yarn instead of using paint or mod-podge. All it took was a 12 x 12 canvas, a letter of choice, yarn, and material. I chose to use burlap and utilized the left over fabric to make a cute little flower to pin to the letter. Tack everything on and you're done! Super easy, a little time consuming but not much and you have some cute new decor. And it only cost $13.

Change of pace
At first, this blog was going to be specifically for my designs as a florist but I recently decided to put a variety of things in my posts. I got a sewing machine for Christmas and I was dying to try it out. I wanted to make something that would require a little more sewing than usual so I could get familiar with my machine. Growing up, if we needed anything sewn we went to my grandma who, more often than not, just did the project for us. ha ha it was nice at the time but now I wish I knew how to do that myself. After searching online for ideas I decided to make a rag quilt. I love anything turquoise! So when I picked out fabric that was the first thing I was drawn to. It ended up being turquoise and red. I bought four different fabrics and asked the lady cutting it how much I needed. It was so much easier letting her figure it out instead of not getting enough or way too much fabric.
This week I made some kitchen curtains that I LOVE (with the help of my mother in law... I am not much of a sewer). I got my inspiration from a pottery barn picture. They were so easy and I think they turned out really cute.
